The High-Performance Composite Materials Operator profession
The High-Performance Composite Materials Operator works in industrial companies specialising in the manufacture or repair of composite material parts. These companies may belong to sectors as varied as aeronautics, boating or wind energy. The role of the operator is crucial, as he or she must not only master production techniques but also comply with the standards and regulations in force, particularly in terms of safety and the environment.
The main tasks include:
- Manufacture of composite parts: Using moulds or tools, the operator creates simple or complex parts (monolithic or sandwich) by stratification, draping, injection, infusion or bonding.
- Repairing parts : The operator repairs parts or assemblies in composite materials using specific tools and polymerisation methods.
- Traceability : Ensuring traceability at all stages of production to guarantee product quality and conformity.
- Protection of parts : Ensuring that the parts produced are protected for storage and/or transport.
- Waste management : Take part in sorting and disposing of waste, as well as managing energy in an environmentally-friendly way.
- Machine maintenance : Carry out first-level preventive maintenance operations in accordance with company procedures.
