AURECOMP
- Composite
With the support of the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA), Compositadour and Toulouse-based start-up BAYAB Industries have developed an automated repair solution for composite parts. The advances made in 2019 have enabled this technology to be validated on 2 real-life applications: a Mirage 2000 elevon and an A400M air intake cowling.
Machining time is reduced by a third compared with traditional manual methods.
At the same time, Compositadour has explored another application for this technology with the ‘Durable’ project. This project aims to develop a solution for repairing wind turbine blades directly on site. The concept is based on the use of the REPLY.5 machine, weighing around 50 kg, attached to a drone capable of working on installations at height. This exploratory project could transform wind turbine maintenance by cutting costs and timescales.
