Managing our composites: the purchase of a specialized shredder
In the industrial sector, composite materials are widely used for their strength and lightness properties. However, waste management represents a major challenge for companies in the sector, requiring innovative and sustainable solutions. The durability and strength of these materials mean that they can take a long time to decompose naturally. As a result, the industry has been looking for ways to recycle them. That's why we're delighted to announce our latest acquisition: a state-of-the-art industrial shredder custom-built by ECP Groupe SOLEN.
This recent acquisition, which specializes in the grinding of large composite parts, marks a major step forward in our commitment to sustainability, and is fully in line with our technological roadmap, which focuses on the industry's societal and environmental challenges, such as the use of raw materials that have less impact on the environment: bio-sourced, geo-sourced, recyclable and/or reusable. This mill uses state-of-the-art technology to reduce composites to particles of various particle sizes, facilitating their subsequent recycling.
This industrial grinder offers a number of advantages for composites management, such as the recycling of thermoplastic composite parts, since it can grind long staple fibers which can then be reprocessed under the press. This enables the production of products or semi-finished products from recycled TP composites. Read the technical description of the equipment: Shredder - Compositadour
